Tongue guard questions

Getting a tongue guard installed on Monday on my lower arch. I having some questions for those that have had these sort of appliances:
1. How bad is the lisp and how long does it take to get used to taking with it in your mouth?
2. What was it like to eat? Did you have to cut stuff up?
3. Feel silly asking this, can you kiss with a tongue guard in?
4. Heard there is a lot of drool associated with these sort of things, how long does it take for the drool to calm down?
5. Does it hurt?
6. How long did it take for you to change your tongue resting position and swallow?

I'm a little nervous about this and not sure what to expect. I have never had anything like this before.
