I was 35 when I got my full metal jacket. Wore them for 22 months.

Got braces when I was 38 and I have been wearing them for 18 months now. As someone said before it's like a love and hate relationship.

I am 18 and I should be getting braces on soon. However, because I still need teeth extracted and a few more preliminary appointments, I will probably be 19 before the braces are actually put on. :)

Just got mine fitted at 43. I'm hoping they'll be off before I'm 45.

Got mine on when I was 23 and I've recently turned 25. They're hopefully coming off soon! Was hoping to have a braces-free smile as a 25th birthday present but no such luck! Oh well. I considered getting braces as a teen but felt really self conscious about it. Now that I'm in my 20s I don't care what people think as much!

I got braces as a freshman in college at the age of 18. We finally had the money and I was finally brave enough to take the plunge. I only regret that I didn't do it earlier.

I was 36! I've had mine for 8 months now & finally got up the nerve to put teal ligs on the bottom. I have ceramics with silver ligs on top.

I'm in the same boat as you. Braces on at 23, still have them at 25. Hopefully not too much longer to go now.

I was self conscious in the beginning when gaps were opening and closing all over the place, but now they've settled down a bit I don't even pay attention anymore. Just the other day I had a girl I've been working with for two months tell me she didn't realise I had braces until just then! Adults really don't make a big deal out of it, which is nice.

22 now, will be getting them on at 23 which will be in July. Kind of excited and nervous at the same time. I was mean't to get them a few years ago but kept delaying it. This one's for real though :)
