I'm a 38 year-old dude and just got traditional metal braces this past Friday. Between several social events, church, and going back to work today people definitely noticed them and commented on them, but it was universally positive. Swapped a lot of stories with people who have had them before, and got some good advice about what to expect going forward. I actually like the way they look on my teeth; better than I thought I would. Quite a few people told me they made me look younger, and I'm cool with that.
