do you go to a 1 ortho office, or multiple ortho office?

#1 Post by Tyrantblade »

Just wondering how many orthodontists are at the offices you go to, the practice i go to tends to have at least 2 (maybe 3) orthodontists at each office with 3 locations, although 1 has limited hours

the other 2 have pretty good hours, going to 4-5 pm, although they have already went several hours past that when they put my braces on, as it was a consultation appointment and then they offered to put my braces on

So far its just been assistants (im not sure what title) doing the work on me (directed by one of the orthodontists im sure, even if i don't see one directly), but the important thing is that i like my experience so far, nothing seems to go wrong, the worst thing being the 1 time the tiniest bit of the end of a wire dug into my cheek; and they can always fit me in to check on things and fix anything if need be

So how about you guys? Do you go to an office with just one orthodontist or several?

My orthodontist has two offices but he is the only practicing orthodontist so it doesn't matter which office I go to, I'd still get one on one interaction with just him. I prefer it that way because then he is the only one treating me. He splits his week between the office I regularly go to and the other office which is about 20 minutes away...which it isn't very far for most mainlanders, but us islanders...that's quite a ways away. For a small island, most prefer not to travel more than six miles. Hahaha Anyways, I always get my appointment right on every four weeks because my appointment is the first one of the day, which by the way...my 10th adjustment is tomorrow.

My ortho practice has two doctors (one male, one female...if that makes a difference) and two offices. Sometimes both offices are open with one doctor in each, sometimes both doctors are in one office. I've been seen by both doctors but usually I see the one who formally diagnosed me (the male) and I actually prefer him to his partner. I can go to either office as its all one computer system but I try to stick to the one closer to where I work so I can go in on the way home or make it a lunch appointment, even though my job is pretty flexible with my hours.

I did notice today that I haven't seen the female doctor around the office in a few months...I didn't mention it or ask any questions because it wasn't until I was leaving. But I am curious now...

There are two orthodontists at my office and they have a satellite office that is open one or two days a week in a small town about 30 miles from here. I'm usually seen by the orthodontist who looked at me at the beginning and made my treatment plan (I like her a lot), but if she is not there when I have an adjustment the other ortho does my adjustment. I think it is a good system since appointments don't need to be cancelled if one is sick, but I wish they would have let me meet both orthodontists when I did my consultation.

My ortho office has only one orthodontist and one location. The orthodontist makes sure to see and speak to every patient at every appointment, though the majority of the work is done by the assistants.

I also go to a one ortho/one location type place. My ortho has been in practice a long, long time so their office is closed for holidays constantly. When I say constantly, I mean almost every single time I'm scheduling my next appointment, it falls on one of their holiday weeks. Kind of annoying!

I go to an office where the husband and wife both work as orthodontists, independent practice. :)
