Pain after wire change

#1 Post by silvertitan »

I am 36 years old and chose to get braces to fix an overbite as my teeth are pretty straight. My braces were put on on October 8th along with a band around each individual bracket. I went in on December 4th and got a new archwire put in and I definitely noticed more pressure on my teeth. They also put a band that looks like a figure 8 that attaches from the back 2nd bottom molar, along every tooth and ends at the front tooth. It has been 3 weeks and my back molar that only has a bracket that the wire attaches to really hurts! Is this normal? I can't understand why it hurts so badly...any thoughts?

that is normal. usually after a wire change, you will experience soreness and a bit of pain. I'm sure the pain is gone by now.
