The soreness and the amount of food to be avoided is killing me haha
Hey blade, I know how you feel. We've all been through the horrible first week where we all felt like taking the braces off. It'll get better and trust me it's definitely worth it
Sup LongJourney, Thanks for the encouragement! I'm just wondering if many people had springs used to close an extraction gap? I have a 5-6mm gap where my first premolar used to be on my left, and also wondering how long it took some people to actually see some movement, like at least a millimeter?
Hey blade so sorry for the late reply I'm barely here lol. I know the struggle with gaps, I had two premolars extracted plus two bottom ugh all the space. Idk about spring but today was my third month adjustment and I just received POWER CHAINS!!! They're mostly used to close gaps and even thou they hurt like hell, I'm just glad to get them because my spaces need to be closed ASAP.
I'll update u two weeks later and tell u how much my gaps closed
Still, thanks for replying back
Oh wow, now im kinda jealous. I had my first appointment with my ortho on the 03/18, she said that she won't change the wires but will change the colored rubberbands thats holding it in the brackets. She also said that on our next appointment, she will change the wires and put something stronger to pull my canine back to close the gap, she also stated that i will have homework after that appointment which is that I will have to put another kind of rubberband to help pull my canine back.
I really try to avoid being photographed and talking to girls because of my teeth problem 1. my uppers are not in the center line like 2mm to my right side 2. i have an extreme overbite
haa....what a life
6 months in so far, I had an overbite which was fixed in the first two months, but now I feel nothing is really happening. they've told me they're working on spacing now, but it seems to just be moving slowly. I had the fun replacement appointment the other day where they shift brackets around, wasn't too bad.

wow that sounds great. There's really no point in trying to hide your braces, everyone knows you have them and most people have had them too. so get out there tiger!
PS. I did this for about a month then finally no one cared anymore, and all my friends like my stories from the orthodontist.

Well actually, I was hiding my teeth before I got braces. It just looks weird and the midline misalignment is very obvious on photos
I'm 10 days into an 18-24 month estimated time. I noticed yesterday that my bottom teeth have shifted slightly to the left leaving my bottom arch off center I suspect that this is because I the wire on the bottom arch stops just short of my first molar on the right side and goes all the way across on the left side. They did this because I have a crown on the bottom right side; they want to wait until my next visit to put a bracket there. The good thing is that at least I know movement is happening.
Braced: March 18, 2016 De-bonded : December 29, 2017 (22 months out of the 18-24 month treatment plan I was given) Retainers: Fixed on top and bottom/ Clear, removable for nighttime wear
Im on month 7 and my FIRST power chain, i have damon braces, tteating overlapped front teeth and overcrowded bottom 4 teeth...i have experienced open coil springs on my front tooth which sucked an was super awkward hahah then caused a ridiculous space that caused a gap in my front teeth that was strong and not closing which i was ok because seeing crowded teeth forveer that london look was fun while it lasted...then 2 open coil on the bottom teeth these were all done SEPERATE times, she said because if she had 2 open coil springs it was be too much pressure they would hardly move, her technique took a few more appts but they moved freakin quick,, had 4 brackets repositioned because one front tooth was getting 3 centimeters atleassst longer then the tooth next to it beccause there excuse was my teeth were to crooked to place properly>_< uhh hahah so i rocked this one mammoth tooth for a month which sucked obvi,,i usually got the clear bands, and i never had a big issue with yellowing unless i had a pumpkin spice latte around holiday time>_< that was the best worst mistake ever.... the straw didnt even help! So i knew it was gnna get the powrr chain and researched in advance, i figures tho a power chain would stain way easier, Haha so i knew for my power chain i needed color because i wasnt risking a yellow band hahah, i got pink and dang my first time having a color on these damn braces in general but i like them hahah im extremley spunky and wear bright eyeshadow so it actually vibed with me:) and my teeth look 5times whiter then the clear! Love clear because in pics its completely unnoticeable... the power chain Hurts all my teeth hurt which i do like :) but ugh its super like annoying but seeing my midline come together is so mindblowing im obsesssesssssed , my teeth r pretty long on the bottom so now them being straight it just changes my whole jaw structure :-D
