Getting braces soon. 3 teeth need pulling first:(

#1 Post by coryjames »

Super excited to be getting braces , I'm 33 and never imagined I'd be getting them.

Have an appointment set in 2 weeks for my extractions, one bottom fronttooth and my bottom wisdom teeth, these are not mandatory at this time but they only came in half way, so I'm doing it all together.

Still deciding between white or silver braces, but leaning to all silver!

Anyway , nice to find a place to read up and learn from people going through the same things.

Nice to meet you!!

I have been to two different orthodontists and have a 3rd appointment tomorrow with another one.

First one didn't seem very friendly and totally rushed, didn't even look in my mouth only at the photos the the nurse took.

The second place wanted to take some photos and I noticed on the machine that has the things that go in your ears to hold your head straight that the ear covers were very dirty. Big chunks of earwax ....... I simply pointed it out calmly and politly and she gets all defensive and says that she knew and they always leave everything and clean it infront of each patient. Blah blah ya right, so she grab a cloth and wipes them both off, they were clearly little replacement caps that go on. I left, if they can't use 1 cent new ear probe things then this is not the place for me. Unfortunately I already paid the 300$ fees, I really hope I find the right ortho soon.
If anyone from Ontario Canada has any recommendations, feel free to share them:)

Well, on the plus side, you should be able to take the x-rays with you so you won't have to pay to have them taken multiple times.

Yes I had them already from the first ortho, he also didn't change for them. Surprising I know.....

I also had a mold made at the second one, hope I get that too, seeing it cost me money. Will know tomorrow:)

I'm in Niagara falls and I'm looking for a good orth that has a lot of experience with TADs. I visited at least 5 orthos already and I'm still looking for one who was able to treat a 6mm open bite with TADs. What are you trying to correct ?
