Can i just say, I work for social care and do home visits all day every day and lead meetings. I take it out occasionally but I do keep it in most of the time. I still sound deaf! But I don't care anymore. I was really worried about work, but it isn't that bad!

Yeah it's a total choice for me not to wear it whilst I work. I work from home by myself all day so it isn't a vanity thing. But my role is sales and telephone based and I worry I could lose sales if I sound thick hahaha xx

I've discussed it at work today so I may be ok. Tbh I can't seem to keep much to myself anyway. I keep trying to find a worse case scenario but everyone has been so positive.

Oh dear I was thinking I would talk better but maybe that won't happen.
One question I wanted advice on. I have to turn it on Thursday and he said do 1 turn. How do I know what one turn is? If I put the key in the hole nearest the bottom of the aligner and follow the arrow to the top is that classed as one turn or do I do that twice as the hole I use will have only turned half way round the aligner (if that makes any sense) don't want to under or over turn it.

Hi Jenna,

My first turn was only a half turn. You just turn the key as far as it will go. All the other turns will be full ones.
Early on in our treatment Beckie and I discussed how we were tempted to give it an extra turn as we felt it wasn't tight enough. Don't be tempted to do this apparently it's counterproductive.
Yas, let me know how you go on if you decide to call Adam today :)

So my first turn will only actually be able to turn half way round? Does that mean I do it twice then as he said do one turn or two half turns? I still have loads of pressure on my teeth so not tempted at all to over turn ha ha. I don't have the bar on the front yet tho, I have a powerchain at the moment whilst my front teeth are being uncrossed so maybe it will feel less tight when the bulky bar goes on instead of the tight elastic band x

No your first turn will only be the half turn if that's how far it goes.
My dentist also told me one turn or 2 half turns but that's only if a full turn feels too tight for you.

Oh no really!? I was lucky I booked in at Christmas time when it wasn't busy I had an appointment within a week and fitted within another week. He's very busy now though. It will be worth the wait though xx

I don't mind the wait. how long after the consultation can I expect the brace to arrive? Just so that I know when I'll be wearing it.

You will have impressions done in your first consultation. He will send them to the lab so that they can do a mock up of what your teeth will look like and they will come back in 7-10 days. He will probably email you the mock up pictures as you live far away - he did this with me. I saw the pics and said I was 100% willing to go ahead then I was in 14 days later having it fitted.
So to answer your question I had it fitted 3-4 weeks after consultation but he is a lot busier now so I really couldn't tell you Hun.
I am going to post my mock up pictures so you can see what they are like :)
