Cosmetic bonding with braces on. Possible?

#1 Post by Slader01 »

When I get my braces of, I'm going to get 3 of my upper incisors bonded and all of my incisors bonded. But right now, I want to go ahead and get my upper two central incisors bonded because I'm tired of having raggidy looking front teeth when I smile. The reason I'm seeking bonding now is because my front teeth are already in alignment, and I've received the OK from my Ortho if I can find a dentist to do it. The reason I'm not doing all of my incisors right now, is because my upper lateral incisors and all of my lower incisors are too small to be bonded around the brackets. However, with my upper centrals, there's plenty of room to work. I have a consult with my dentist tomorrow for the appointment. I'm wondering if anyone else has ever had bonding done while in braces, and what the experience was like.

It may be a good idea to wait if you can get yourself to do that. The reason is because the bonding of the teeth should be done keeping in mind the size and space of the other teeth as well. If it bothers you now, you could consider a temporary bonding now but with the expectation that you should be doing it after treatment as well. There are also situations where you will want to have some bonding going across the front surface of the tooth where the brace is currently located as well. Good luck!
