Individual Tooth Pain

#1 Post by dafdesign »

Has anyone experienced throbbing pain in one tooth only? I've had a tooth ache for about 4 days now. Called my regular dentist today and they did an X-ray but couldn't find anything. They said before rushing into a root canal (yeah, thanks!!) that they wanted to adjust my bite since that might be causing the problem. They did say two filling in the molars (where the pain is concentrated) were high, so they drilled them down a little. The pain hasn't gone away yet. Is this something I should be worried about?

I have had just one tooth hurt and it turned out to be that tooth was moving. It took a couple of days for it to settle down. My teeth were not really bad as far as being crooked, so my pain only lasted a couple of days. If yours has a lot of moving to do, it could take longer??? Just a guess on my part.
Had Damon 3 / Smart Clips for almost 2 years
Now in Hawley upper 10 hours/day, permanent lower retainers

I also have had one individual tooth that hurt like a monkey. But I think it was only because it was doing a lot of moving. ITs funny I even seem to have braces pain right before an adjustment. :?:
But good luck with your treatment and hope you feel better.

Thanks so much! You've all put my mind at rest. It's so hard to know what to expect and what is out of the norm. Now I know I'll just be eating more Advil for awhile!!! (And I've only got about 19 more months to go!! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun?)
