Braces, Rubber Bands should i stop wearing them?

#1 Post by AnxKid »

Hi, i have been wearing rubbers for 4 weeks now to pull my lower jaw forward, and my bite has been changing. But my most recent bite is cause my throat to feel tight, feels uncomfortable when i swallow, and feel constant urge to throw up. Also my ears feel weird due to this new bite. So should i stop wearing them or is this normal? or should i just try to cope with this discomfort. Help!

Call your ortho and discuss what's happening.
Braces for 18 months/4 days.

It doesn't sound normal, talk with your orthodontist and they will help you as best as they can, if it isn't related to braces, thdy will know who better to help you.
Lots of crimes here

1. The upper molars bite too far ahead of the lower molars

2. Missing teeth #s 9, 14, and, 29

3. Open bite

4. Upper midline left of center

5. Lower midline right of center

6. Upper and lower teeth not straight

Sentence - 24 months, turned to 27 month.

Braces removed since 11/06/17

Wear them until your next appointment, then tell your Ortho. He/She probably will give you new rubber bands that aren't as tight.

I'm not a medical professional, but if your throat feels tight and uncomfortable when you swallow, you might have a sensitivity or an allergy to something in the rubber bands, possibly latex. As for your ears, I don't know. But definitely touch base with your orthodontist to have something switched out. The last thing you want is your throat closing up because of an allergy you didn't know you had.
