AOO procedure this morning

#1 Post by Swiper »

Had my AOO and wisdom extractions done this morning.

The most pain so far is from the extractions and my throat from the sinus tube. Darn near feels like strep throat when i swallow. 10mg hydrocodone is helping along with ice.

I was most concerned about the general anesthesia to be honest as i have never been under. But it went great and i had no nausea. At the dr at 7:15am and back home by noon.

I'm not certain what AOO is -- I presume it is Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics -- but am glad you came through the procedure well and are recovering! Best of luck to you! Sounds like a lot of surgery, especially with the extractions!

Thanks...yes Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics.

On day 7 and the pain / swelling is much better. Most of the pain is in my throat and roof of mouth, it feels like my whole mouth was burned and swollen.

I''ve only been able to eat (drink) potato, broccoli ,cheese soup blended to a liquid. Anything else feels like my mouth is on fire. The food cravings are horrible, i want pizza and cheeseburgers in the worst way.

Anyway, it hasn't been as bad as i expected and without the extractions would have been a far less painful recovery.
