A few months back I made a post about about a quote I was given ( frustrated to say the least :P) well I actually got all that work done and man it was a lot of work. 18 filling and 2 tooth removals. I only had 2 root canals out of the 18 fillings I needed. I ended up paying 5300$ out of pocket ( yikes ) but I am dedicated to get towards my goal which is to have braces, I was told I have to wait because he/the dentiist said there are probably cavities which have not formed to the point of showing up on the xrays ( machine cannot detect it ) but apparently there are or will be more. not to the extent of what I had and will be really minor compared to to the work I had done. ( I made a previous post my first post about my dental history and background here is the run down. I did not go to the dentist for 4 years from 2007 to 2011 after I got some work done. only got 2 fillings in 2011 but parents were hiding the cost of the rest because it was too expensive. I obviously needed more than 2 fillings so it got worse. did not go back until 2016 in which I decided to get this dealt with myself. I also did not have the best dental hygiene for a bit) so I have some questions...
side notes before I ask the questions
I am 19 years old
I now brush twice a day once in the morning, don't eat or drink anything for at least a half hour usually more in the morning also once at night and I use Crest pro health advanced no alcohol with fluoride. and floss once a day at night. ( I have done this for 6 months now) I don't smoke never have same with coffee never drank it and still don't. I also cut sugary drinks and cereal from my diet. I only drink milk and water
my last check up and cleaning which was the one where I learned I had all of those cavities was the 27th of November 2016
as of march 16th 2017 I have no seen cavities ( there will be more apparently )
I had 2 teeth removed the first molars on both bottom left and bottom right side ( eating is a little more difficult for sure lol )
now onto the questions...
how long should I wait before I go get a check up again I know the regular time is usually 6 months but should I go earlier?
should I stick with the current dentist I am with for my orthodontic treatment or should I go to someone who only does orthodontic work and nothing but orthodontic work. the dentist I am with is great but he does my fillings and apparently orthodontic work as well but I am not too sure on what I should do...
do I need to have all of my wisdom teeth removed? I can see some of them such as my top needing to be removed since I have all me teeth there. but my bottoms I am missing teeth ( first molar both lower sides ) and one of the wisdom teeth ( bottom left ) have erupted through the gum and is growing like a normal tooth oddly enough. since I am 19 not too sure if any of the other ones of fully come in at all. I don't care if they all need to be removed in order to get braces just mainly worried about it changing my face significantly.
will the braces close the gap with my first molars that were removed or will I need a crown in the future?
thank you :)
How long do you suggest before I go back? and some other questions.

Re: How long do you suggest before I go back? and some other questions.
Let your general dentist do the general stuff, but in no way let him deal with your braces. Orthodontics is too complicated for someone who does it on a part-time basis and without the proper training and experience. You'll read plenty of horror stories here about issues created when general dentists try their hand at orthodontics, especially the Six-Month smiles nonsense. In fact, I'd recommend you seek a consultation with a board-certified orthodontist ASAP and review the proposed plan, and to have your questions answered. No one here can really comment on the appropriateness of the plan, which I think you realize. Don't get any extractions before you speak with an orthodontist, and I would do that before your next checkup with the dentist. Congratulations on undertaking this journey, and best wishes for a successful outcome!
