Day 1....should have done this 15 years ago/also hating it

#1 Post by prophecymatty »

34 years old and I finally pulled the trigger today. I got the Damon braces system and my ortho says I'm looking at 24 months. I find myself wishing I started this years ago and also regretting it immediately. Once I figure out how to post pics I'll update with progresss photos. May 2019 can't come fast enough!

I'm 31 and just started my journey. I quite seldom have that "I should have done this earlier" but when I do, I think that I just might as well could have postponed that phone call to the ortho another half year... as I had already postponed it because it was such a scary thing. And then I think; in a parallel universe I may still be postponing! Which makes me ahead of schedule. Lol, hope that makes sense.

I have Damon Braces and I'm nearing the end, approximately 3 months to go (if one bracket can stop breaking off), it's not so bad past the first month or two and especially late in treatment.
Lots of crimes here

1. The upper molars bite too far ahead of the lower molars

2. Missing teeth #s 9, 14, and, 29

3. Open bite

4. Upper midline left of center

5. Lower midline right of center

6. Upper and lower teeth not straight

Sentence - 24 months, turned to 27 month.

Braces removed since 11/06/17
