Braces are to come off in a few weeks but...

#1 Post by AVS0S »

My braces are to come off on the 31st of May. However, I feel like I have a mini underbite. I did hear my orthodontist mention a Class III bite. With my current elastics setup, it only seems to be pushing it back further with rubber bands connecting to my canines to my second molars. My midline is also off as well. So... what's up?

The only thing I can pass on is don't get them off until you're happy.

My ortho was ready to take them off about a year ago; but I wasn't even close. We're getting closer daily, but I'm not going to accept "close enough" now; after everything I've been through. Since then; widened my palate some and turned some teeth.

I recommend talking with your ortho, expressing your concerns, and going from there.
Round 3 (lifetime) Damon stainless applied 3/16/20 (after 4 weeks attempting invisalign) On for about 18 months
Night time elastics with invisalign retainers; still...
Double jaw surgery was 6/18/15...
Orthodontics never really ends...
I'm emphatically against extraction orthodontics!

I agree with post above me.. I would tell your ortho all the concerns you have before getting debraced. IMO, It would be a bit silly to go through hell wearing braces only to end up with a smile you're not happy with.
