Hi everyone,
I'm new to braces, and got ceramic upper and lowers fitted about one month ago. My first adjustment is still three weeks away but after eating my dinner this evening I noticed that the back wire on my last but one molar had broken out of the bracket and was above it near my gum. I managed to move the wire back down to the bracket but it won't click into place exactly, I dont know if it needs an elastic as I can't really tell how the other side is connected because they are clear!
Anyway I was wondering if this meant that my entire top set of braces would not work properly now since this wire has come loose? It doesn't hurt at all but I don't want it to delay the process/stop the others from moving.
Also is it normal to have to wait 7 weeks between the fitting and first adjustment? I feel like that's an age as the ortho only said it would take 12 months for the full treatment but so far I've seen no sign of movement.
Thanks!

Re: Help! Wire popped out back molar bracket
Call your ortho and stop in. It'll take them just a minute to fix. You are plenty early in your treatment most likely that you won't see any setback if it's a day or 2. Slap some wax on it if it's stabbing you. Good luck.
Re: Help! Wire popped out back molar bracket
Thanks for replying! I managed to get an emergency appointment today and the ortho said that one of the elastic ligs had come off hence why I couldn't pop the wire back in fully. She took about 20 seconds to fix it and for a few minutes after the teeth around it felt tight again but now everything feels like normal.
Hoping to see some improvement soon!
