Extraction / Infection / New wire

#1 Post by krystal7krystal7 »

I got 2 of my my premolars extracted on 15th Friday morning.
And I am supposed to get another 2 extracted on last Monday (18th) but headache after extraction just won't go away.
It was so painful to open my mouth, severe headache just drives me crazy. Even my neck arches so bad. I couldn't get another extraction at that state.
I went back to hospital on Tuesday and they said it was infected. :'( :'(
The dentist cleaned that extracted area, almost like stiring the extracted area (painful !!!! I cried during the process) and gave me antibiotic (he should have done that since the beginning. He only gave me painkiller). Now I am on antibiotic & painkiller but my jaw still hurts and headache is so stubborn. The whole thing is driving me nuts. I am supposed to get new wires too after getting all 4 of them extracted but I am so sick and tired of all of this :'( It is just.. too painful. It's been 6 days with severe headache non stop. And my ortho wants to put new wires on the same day of getting extracted T_T I feel like everthing is just going wrong.

The antibiotics should be reducing your infection symptoms in a day or so, but remember to keep taking them as directed. If you are still having a headache on Thursday or Friday I'd recommend (as an RN) that you return to your doctor. Sorry to hear that you have to endure this -- cleaning out that wound must have been excruciating. Best of luck for a fast recovery and uneventful extractions.
