Should i call my Ortho office?

#1 Post by Tyrantblade »

So ive got my braces off; which im loving because no more food stuck under wires.

But i have a small gap between the front teeth on my bottom row; i didnt know i was gonna have this gap otherwise i could of waited a week or two more before i got my braces taken off.

My Ortho said the gap should close in a few days, but the bottom retainer isnt closing the gap, its still the same it was the day i got my braces off.

They said if the gap doesnt close i will get buttons and a chain; which im not familiar with and never had.

Next appointment isnt for a few months; should i call them to get an appointment to go in? Or wait?

Hopefully it works because i dont want to go back to bottom braces.

chains are pretty painful, more so when they put it on.
How many days has it been? Maybe you should call your dentist and see what he wants to do (after waiting a bit). I have a gap right in the middle of my lower teeth aswell, I've had chains for nearly 6 weeks now and it has barely done anything when my ortho said it should be closed.

Its been about 2.5 weeks; still doesn't seem like the clear retainer did anything to close to gap.
