mRNA Appliance Question

My daughter just got fitted for an mRNA appliance (for palate expansion/bringing mandible forward, not for OSA). I have had several consults with orthodontists during the past few years, and all of them have indicated that we will most likely need to extract teeth because her arches are just too small. A few mentioned rapid palette expansion, but this still didn't address her recessed lower jaw and forward head posture. I started researching other options and found epigenetic orthodontics and orthotropics, which both showed evidence of lower arch expansion and addressed her lower jaw and airway. Since there were no orthotropics providers anywhere near me, epigenetic orthodontics/DNA Appliance it was. I am a bit concerned as I look at it, however, and was hoping someone could help me out. I notice that there are acrylic bite blocks on the back teeth. I know one of the reasons epigenetic orthodontics came to be was because of the belief/evidence that braces elongate/melt faces. By having these bite blocks, won't this elongate the face? I mean, it seems that the mouth won't be able to close all the way, making the face longer over time as it tries to do so? Additionally, with the mRNA, it brings the mandible forward. When I read about it online, however, it says "vertical repositioning of the mandible." If it moves it forward, wouldn't this be horizontal repositioning? I'm confused! Someone said the bite blocks will result in an open bite in the back. Does this happen, and if so, how is this fixed?? I don't want to elongate my daughter's face, which is the reason I began looking into epigenetic orthodontics in the first place because extraction orthodontics often results in a weak chin and a long, vertical face as opposed to a forward-grown face. So my current understanding is that these devices seem a bit counterproductive, but I would love it if someone could show me where I'm mistaken in my thinking so I can have some peace of mind about going this route.

I am not an orthodontist but I believe that bite blocks can intrude molars so the lower jaw can move forward, which if over intruded can cause a posterior open bite. Look up the mechanics of fixing an anterior open bite, you can probably find a better explanation.
