Second consult with same ortho?

#1 Post by almost40 »

I think I may have narrowed things down to 2 orthos that I have previously consulted with. However, some new questions came up in my mind after I met with others. Has anyone asked to have a second consult with an ortho prior to treatment? Were they generally open to it and was it still complementary?

I haven't, but i think it is a good idea especially if he/she is looking to be your ultimate choice. But if it is just round two and you aren't close to a decision, then I might recommend caution. Best of luck to you!

I haven't either, and besides, consultations are not free at where I live.

I second what djspeece said, if the ortho you are going for a second consult with is likely to be your ultimate choice, then I would say go for it, and if they do ultimately charge you, you could probably also negotiate abit. I have also heard that some orthos waive consultation fees if you end up choosing to go with them.

Alternatively, you could try your luck emailing them your questions too.

Thank you for your responses! I called one of the offices and they were totally fine to having another second complementary consult. Makes me feel even better about choosing them.
