Hello,
I was a regular here over 10 years ago when i had braces at 18. Unfortunately, i was not satisfied then on the outcome it left my face. I have a swollen looking face and my orthodontist then did not really want to help me get my face back. She looked really concerned about being sued. Anyway, ive tried plenty of different help. I tried chiropractor, physical therapy, buxism nightguards, wisdom teeth removal, etc. I came across tmj trigger point botox from a local dentist's website and after watching a few videos this looks like the correct solution for me. Has anyone tried this treatment before? Did it work and what did you think of it?

Re: masseter botox
How were you treated and what for? It seems like you may have TMD due to excessive clenching of the masseter muscles, but was this triggered by your previous treatment, or was this the reason for the treatment, which did not solve the problem? Anyway, I think causing mild paralysis of selected chewing muscles can help with some TMD cases. I understand the mechanism behind the procedure (I do research on just that) and it is an effective way of locally controlling muscle tone, BUT the procedure must be done by someone extremely qualified in order to target only the problem muscles, and only the right amount.
