Cavities or Stains

#1 Post by SwKWhiteKnight »

Hey guys! I have ceramic braces and on the top set of my braces I have brownish black spots beginning to show up on what appears to be where the bracket meets the tooth. These spots have been specifically showing up on the front six teeth. I’ve asked my orthodontist and he says it’s just staining since I’m a tea/coke drinker!
As soon as I figure out how to post a pic I will!

You need ten posts to the forum before you can post photos. Keep on posting!

As for the stains, rinse and brush after you drink (or eat) anything, and you'll do much better! And be careful with mouthwash; some of them stain like crazy. I was using Crest Pro-Health mouthwash in my first month with braces and got stains on my teeth; when I went for a dental cleaning three months in, the hygienist even commented on them. Since I switched to a mouthwash without CPC, no more staining. Here's the info:

My friend was also worried about them and her ortho said they were strains too. Very important to keep on top of the health of your teeth!
