Headgear and Itching??

Hey friends!

So I got my braces on June 5th 2018, and yesterday, July 17th 2018, I got my headgear. When I got my braces on, I experienced no pain at all, just slight pressure. I expected the headgear to be the same way, as many people say headgear pain is similar to braces pain. I've had my headgear on for 2 days now, (only when I'm home and at night), and I'm experiencing a terrible itching and burning sensation on the gums above my molars. Is this an allergy? Should I call my Orthodontist?

Terrible itching and burning sensation doesn't sound normal. I'd say to give your ortho a call and find out if it's normal.

did you call, others might be interested if they have the same issues. hope all has settled down now.

Yes, all has been settled. It turns out it's a completely normal reaction, as it wasn't swelling or bleeding. Some people just react different i guess?
