Is this normal?

#1 Post by Braceyourself666 »

I have had my top braces on for around 8 months and my front top teeth which were severely over crowded have moved significantly, which is great.
But, this last week or so I have noticed one of my front teeth is looking crooked, is this normal when the tooth is moving into place.?
For some reason I have been hitting it when I have a drink, maybe not used to it being in this position?
Any advice much appreciated

Hi There- your teeth shift a lot during treatment but sometimes when things "zig" they also "zag". I had a problem where my (right upper cuspid I think) tooth was suddenly catching when I would chew during one of my elastic config phases (I believe the box). I voiced my concerns to the ortho who changed out the power chain on all top teeth to a metal tie for the front 4 teeth and also switched me to class two config.

You should discuss the issue with your ortho so he / she can do some tweaking to address the issue.
