Adjustments...every 2 months?

#1 Post by genxsis »

My ortho told me that my adjustments will be every 2 months. I thought people usually have it done every month. Is every 2 months really often enough?

That's pretty much been my schedule - every 8 weeks. Once or twice 6 weeks, but usually 8.

Yep that sounds normal. I had appts at 6-8 week intervals and as I got closer to getting them off, the appts were spaced even further. My longest was 9 weeks!

So far my adjustments are 10 weeks apart, but I have Damon 3's they don't require frequent adjustments. For regular metal/ceramic brackets it looks like 6-8 weeks is normal.

Well, thank you everyone! It's nice to know I'll only have to visit the ortho half as often as expected! :D

I went every 3-5 weeks depending on when they had an opening in the schedule.

My longest has been 5 weeks (only because I was out of the country). Three weeks is the norm and I've gone as often as two weeks. About half the appts have been nothing more than lig changes.

I am supposed to go every 10-12 weeks. I got my braces in May, had my first adjustment on August 22, and just had my second adjustment on November 10. My next adjustment is scheduled for January 26. I'm glad I don't go that often, I would hate to go through the adjustment pain every month! Oh yeah, I have the regular old metal braces with ligatures.

Four to six weeks for me, usually closer to the six week mark. Seems like all the orthos are different. I wouldn't worry.

Temporarily rebraced Nov. 21, 2006. ( I think I've moved past temporary. )

My appointments have mostly been 4 weeks, but 2 of the 5 I've had have been, "nope, hasn't moved/turned/whatevered enough yet", and the wire is retied anyway... (whatevered is an official dental technical term :) ).

My last one was 4 week gap, and then they say "tooth not rotated enough, come back in 6 weeks"...

Nothing to worry about me thinks.

I think it is related to the kind of braces. If you have selfligating ones you need less adjustments.
