I was supposed to get self ligating ones in the beginning but after studying my case they decided that it's not an option. So I went for ceramics. I asked them about treatment time and they said it's not such a big difference if any. Now I admit... Even if ceramics mean a couple of months more time I think it's worth it because they look so much better than metal.

I agree too!

Ceramics look much better, even just for the upper 6 anterior.

hehe, now teeth is the first thing I tend to notice on people. I saw someone with ceramics yesterday. It's not noticeable at all 4 ft away. I'll be ok with that and I should feel gd enuf to last the long treatment.

I think what looks better is very subjective. From what I've read here, some people who had a choice of ceramics or metal chose metal, because they liked the look better. I think what is most important is that the person wearing the appliance is happy with how they look, and hopefully we all have (or have had) all of the choices available to us that we'd want. This is just IMHO, but I had to comment.

I am in the process of deciding between ceramics and metals, so I do understand the appeal of both! :D

Edited to add: I think it is great that you are both really happy with your ceramics. Liking the look is certainly a positive and so helpful in getting through the trial of being braced! :)
