$4,300 for the braces, payments of $115 a month--my dental insurance then reimburses me 70% of that, not too shabby when it's all said and done--my cost is only $34.50/month. Best part, they'll be paid for in 3 more months . . .

$3200, insurance at the time paid $1,000. Out of pocket for my dad (I was 15 at the start) $2200 divided into monthly payments of $98/mo.

Required oral surgery to remove supernumeral tooth was around $700 after insurance. I was soaring high on Versed though so I can't remember the cost. Mmmm benzodiazepines.

about $5,000 for the braces which include about $400 for the consult before I had the braces put on. The extractions were an additional $500.

For the braces, I am paying it all out of pocket - a percentag down and a monthly charge to a bank account.

For the extraction, the ortho got them part covered under my insurance.

I tell everyone it's my mid-life crisis expenses and its a lot cheaper than a sports car!

US$4300 total for 24-30 months. Well, even if it goes over or under, the price is the same. I'm fortunate in that about 70% will be paid by my dental insurance and the rest will come out of my health spending account, which money I would lose if I didn't use it. There was also $300 for the exam, X-rays and workup. Also covered. The insurance would not pay if it were cosmetic. But it will be presented to the insurance carrier as correcting and aligning my bite.

$4100 and no insurance--I will have to have 4 extractions, which will hopefully not be too bad!

I only have upper. Mine was $1800 but I only have to pay 1/2 - so - $900.

I'm feeling rather lucky, so far besides the Free one - I'm low bidder!

That doesn't count the wisdom tooth extractions which was $250 out of pocket - but would have cost $1500 w/o insurance.
