Hello...
I'm shopping around for orthodontists in the Glasgow area (in the city is best) and was hoping someone could recommend a particular office. I'm looking into ceramic or Damon brackets only but any references would be helpful. Maybe how much the cost was/is as well. Thanks!
Good Orthodontist around Glasgow Scotland?

Thanks Lucy! You're always answering my questions...
I have looked at the BOS website but unfortunately (and I suspect especially in Scotland) not all orthodontists are members. That doesn't necessarily mean they're bad or anything just that they aren't listed.
The closest office to me from that website is an hour away in a different town altogether! The only orthos listed that are in town are attached to the Dental Hospital and it's my understanding that they do not do private cases.
I was hoping that perhaps someone would find this thread with some personal experience in Glasgow to share. And costs! I keep hearing anywhere from 1000 to 2500. And I have no idea how payments would happen. Geez louise.

hi, i used a place in bellshill called orthoworld, dont know if thats a bit far to travel, there is also one in giffnock that i went to see aswell, i had full metal top and bottom, uprighting springs and an expander on top, i had my braces 2yrs and it was, £2200, i paid 100 per month with a deposit of 500, they were really good as well, im going back in 2 weeks to get re-braced as my overbite has redeveloped and they are doing it for free, dont know if this helps you any?
Re: glasgow
Thanks so much! This is exactly the info I was after. Yes, I went to speak with my dentist last week but as it turned out because of holidays, the dentist I see at the practice only fills in on Tues so she's not familiar with the area and couldn't recommend anyone. I was told to call the office on Monday and explain my situation.mc wrote:hi, i used a place in bellshill called orthoworld, dont know if thats a bit far to travel, there is also one in giffnock that i went to see aswell, i had full metal top and bottom, uprighting springs and an expander on top, i had my braces 2yrs and it was, £2200, i paid 100 per month with a deposit of 500, they were really good as well, im going back in 2 weeks to get re-braced as my overbite has redeveloped and they are doing it for free, dont know if this helps you any?
I did go through the Yellow Pages and the only office that would offer any help charges 50 Pounds for a consultation fee. And they wanted that over the phone before I had even seen the office! I've heard of the office in Bellshill (Yellow Pages again) so I'll wait to hear what my dental office says and take it from there. I'm sort of in a time-crunch, however, as I'll only be in the country for 2 more years. <GULP> I'm prepared to switch orthos at the end of treatment if necessary. Gonna be expensive though!
Thanks everyone.. this is just about my favorite site next to Engadget.com ha!
