I'm scheduled to have my braces taken off January 18th WOO-HOO!
I was wondering if it's advisable to go to the dentist for a normal cleaning and whitening right after getting braces off. Is there a certain amount of time Orthos want patients to wait before going in for cleaning and whitening?
Thanks,

Braced 'till the end of 2005 or so.
I couldv'e sworn reading on the Ask The Doctor forum that they advise waiting thirty days to get a professional whitening done to allow time for any gum swelling to go down (that way the whole tooth gets whitened). But, cleaning should be fine, and using something like Crest Whitestrips should be fine too.
