How many teeth do you have?

#1 Post by Betty Bat »

This may sound like a dumb question, but ...

I think everyone learns in school that a person has 32 teeth (at least that's what I learned!). But after my own experience, talking with my friends and relatives, and reading this board, it sure sounds like there are a lot of people around who don't have 32 teeth. I have 27 right now - I didn't get either wisdom tooth on the right side, had the upper wisdom tooth on the left side pulled, had two baby teeth that didn't have permanent teeth behind them. I'll get the two baby teeth replaced with implants eventually.

So how many teeth do you have right now? (not counting bridges and implants)

WEll...

WOw! I hope I count this right!

This really doesn't sound right but including wisdom teeth I only have 24 teeth! I am missing my upper lateral incisors and my lower first premolars were pulled so my mouth would be symmetrical! :? I'm not really sure where my other 2 teeth went though!

Oh well... guess my smile will never be "perfect" but as close to it as I can get! :)

32 to start with. Lost 3 wisdom teeth to the dentist, one more to the oral surgeon, and so far only have plans to have small ammounts shaved off the remaining ones.

I have 28 currently --I had four first bicuspids removed for braces.

I eventually will only have 24, as the impacted wisdoms have to go!
Spacers: 1/26/05; 2/6/06; 3/15/06; 4/24/06
4 First Bicuspids removed: 2/2005
Metal Braces, top and bottom: 3/1/05; Debanded 7/26/07
Hawley retainers top and bottom

I had 32 aswell, which was the problem when not having a wide enough palate, and very little room to for them to move. Then I had 4 removed (biscuspids) and the ortho was given more room to get the remaining 28 straighter.

Hmm... I suppose I have 32.

Unless you don't count wisdom teeth that aren't erupted yet. In that case, I'd have maybe, 28. 5 teeth? Two of my wisdom teeth are partially erupted!

Soon I will have 28, I'm going for a consult to have my wisdom teeth out next month.
