ortho recom. clear on 6 teeth

#1 Post by akabraces »

Hi y'all...

My ortho said he would
put clear brackets on my
top 6 teeth for free...
I had thought I wanted
metal b/c it would be cheaper
so I had never considered
clear...

Is there any reason not
to do clear? Thanks for your
help!!!

I have clear brackets in front, both top and bottom. I had one person who I see on a regular basis go for nearly 2 years before she notices that I had braces

They're not THAT invisible, but from more than a few feet away, they do practically disappear :)

It's been 14 months, and I had a good friend just notice. 14 months... The guy must be truly clueless.

i also have clears on top metals on the bottom at no extra charge. i am very happy with them, and if your ortho feels that you are a good candidate for them then there is no reason not toget them. as long as you like the way they look

there are some myths that you will surely read, but rest assured treatment times are the same, and while ceramics are a bit bigger you most likely will never be able to tell the difference when they are in your mouth. they do not stain though the elastic ligatures that hold the wire in place may.

i have had mine for 10 days and feel like i ended up eating meals with tomato sauce every night and mine still look perfect so who knows.

my advice would be to go with whatever you like the looks of. check out my pics too

3m victory metals bottom
estimated treatment time 16-20 months

I have the clear on the uppers as well and I think they look great. It is one of the few things about having braces that I actually like

thanks for all your responses...

chrisd, your pictures are fantastic!
yr braces look amazing!
the clear are cool on you!

i was with a 10 year old
last night who told me not
to get the clear, that i should
get metal, so that was an interesting
discussion! she's been my guide
through all the details, etc...
i mean, it's what they all
talk about at school...
it's pretty cute and funny...

thanks for all your help!
