How long do you usually have to wear elastics?

How long do you usually have to wear elastics?

Hi everyone. I haven't posted in foreeeeeever. I should take some pics or something. My teeth have been coming along great. All my gaps are closed and my teeth are straight for the most part. But they are currently fixing my overbite.

Soo... last night I got elastics for the first time (I got the Panda!) and was thinking my next appointment isn't for 5 weeks and I have to wear these for at LEAST 5 weeks! But I'm guessing after that I'll just get some other elastics? So i was wondering how many months the elastics usually stay on for? I should have asked my orthodontist last night but I didn't even think about it.

hi! I'm going on about 5 months of elastics right now....they're being used to correct my bite & it's working great!! I do believe that elastics are towards the end of the treatment b/c I ask my orth at my last appt. and he said I have about 1/2 year to go!! good luck-I have the basketball ones myself! I have to wear 4 of them! I've had different configuations over the past 5 months too.
