cleaning this morning w/concerns

#1 Post by ren »

Hi, I'm hoping someone could help me with a problem I encountered this morning when I was at a routine cleaning. They said I was doing a good job brushing & flossing which is great! :) Then the assistant said she had to call the dr. in to look at a banded molar because it looks like the start of a cavity is forming. Dr. looked at the tooth and said that he's going to "watch it" and look at it again at my next cleaning in May.

1) I'm so mad that even though I take every single step to make sure my teeth are 100% clean all the time and now I might have a cavity??

2) I'm flipping out that I might have to get a filling with these braces still in my mouth! Can you get a filling with braces on?

3) please don't let me have a million cavities when these braces come off.

I know I'm probably flipping out about this-but I wasn't a good brusher/flosser before-but have changed my ways. Please help! Renee

Yes you can get fillings when you have braces on. You can have just about any treatment...

I know how you feel; I brush about 5-6 times a day, use proxabrush each time and everything else...so if my dentist tells me I have a cavity at my next check up in 2 months...i am going to flip!!
