guys, i bet your'e all thinking i'm a ditz when it coems to dental terminology but what do you guys mean when you say overbite and underbite etc? i guess the dentists and orthodontists in the states use the proper terms with their patients and that's why you all sound like proffesionals to me. lol i have no idea what some of the words you guys use mean? someone please help me out here!

I'm certainly no professional, but as a patient, I have an interest in what is meant when a dentist or ortho diagnoses problems I have. That's how I get familiar with all those terms. Of course, there are alot of ones I don't know---which are the ones I've never have applied to me! :P

An overbite is when you put your teeth together and your front teeth on top overlap the ones on the bottom. An underbite is just the opposite. I myself have an underbite.
