My poor ortho!!!

#1 Post by Charles08b »

Hey everyone! Well, I had an interesting day, today! I went in for my regular two-week visit to my ortho (on a bright, sunny, warm day here in Montreal), and sat down in his chair, completely oblivious to what was about to happen. While he was working away, he suddenly told me I can have my braces off in TWO WEEKS!!!!!!!

The poor guy, I almost bit his fingers off, but what did he expect, giving me this kind of news while changing my ligatures?!? So, I spent the next few minutes in a kind of confused, spit-filled mess (yes, his fingers were still in my mouth), while I tried to figure out the details. This is at least two months earlier than I had originally expected! Hooray!!!

The funniest part of this all was on my way out of the office. I was putting on my jacket, when I asked him, "so how exactly are you going to take them off?" His response?

"Carefully."

Not exactly the most, ummm.... informative of answers, but I guess I'll find out in a couple off weeks!

By the way, thanks for all the useful information and moral support I've found on this website. You guys are awesome!!!

Haha, yes, lovely sense of humour indeed! He's usually pretty good about answering my questions, though, and I never feel brushed off. I had to laugh at his reply though!

As for what I had done, I suppose it hasn't taken that long because it was't all that complicated. I had several large spaces between my upper front teeth that needed to be closed, end of story. If I wasn't in showbusiness I probably would have left it as it was, but I would forever have been self-conscious in a field where close-up pictures can be taken anytime while I'm performing. And I must say, I'm a more confident person, now that I love my teeth!!! Also, as an unexpected bonus, my vocal technique has improved, now that my teeth are in their right places! Score!!!

By the way, Flora2006, beautiful weather, eh? Everyone's out in the streets! (For those of you who've never been to Montreal, as soon as the weather warms up in spring, you'd swear we'd all been locked in our basements all winter. The population seems to swell tenfold! We're just so glad the long winter's over!!!)

I'm actually in Toronto right now, I go to University in T.O. But I will be coming back for the summer this weekend. It's so true!!! Everyone comes out of their shells once the warmer weather arrives. St.Denis street is so beautiful in the summer...and the Old Port/Old Montreal...Can't wait :)
