Yikes, missing lig

#1 Post by Kell »

I just had my 3rd adjustment yesterday. Just now I was flossing and noticed that there is a lig missing on one of my molars. I don't know if it was there and came off or if the assistant forgot to put it on.

I am assuming this warrants a call to the ortho on Monday? Has this happened to anyone else and is it a big deal?

I am really not happy about this because I have a 7 year old who possibly has the flu so he might still be home from school and I have 2 little one's who are not in school. I really, really don't want to have to take three kids with me to the ortho's office.

I had the same thing happen to me Wednesday. I noticed a lig missing on the bottom right up front. I gave my ortho a call and they told me to come on it. We stood in the hallway and he put one on in about 2 seconds. It took me longer to drive there than to get everthing taken care of.

That's good to know Michal. I wonder if I could talk them into coming out to my car so I can leave my kids in their car seats :)

That would be so funny. Drive-thru orthodontics! Good luck, I hope you get things fixed. Other than that, how are things going? I know you and I were braced the same day.

Everything is going well and I can see improvement already. I updated my web page today. The link is in the www below. My adjustment on Thursday was eventful so my teeth are a bit sore now. I can even see movement since Thursday.

The soreness from the adjustment is no big deal to me. My problem right now is that I have a giant canker sore and fat lip because my 2 year old accidently whacked his big head into the right side of my mouth. That happened in the middle of the night too which made it even worse. It brought tears to my eyes. My braces dug into the inside of my lip and made the giant canker sore and my lip was huge for a few days. That still really hurts a lot. It hurts more than the braces ever have. :-((

How are things going for you?

At my last adjustment, my ortho didn't put a lig on one of my tooth...at first I thought he forgot but I figured he did that on purpose...so who knows for you. Give him a call and see.

I agree, drive-thru orthos would be great!! ;)

Things are going great for me. Lots of movement on the top and now that all of the bottoms are finally on I'll be excited to see movement on the bottom now. It's a mess and needs to go! Oh and cankers, I got one last week out of the blue, but it's gone now. I hope things work out with your missing lig!
