I'm new - Day 3 with partial braces!

#1 Post by Sarah22 »

Hi Everyone, glad I found this forum, it's been great to read about other peoples experiences - makes me feel so much better about my braces. I had my "Bond Up" on Tuesday so I got some brackets on and spacers placed in almost all my back molars. This was very uncomfortable as the space between my molars was, in the ortho's words, "VERY tight". I've been dosed on Ibuprofen so not doing too bad. The most annoying thing is I actually can't chew at all, how long will this liquid diet go on for?? :-(

Getting my spacers out and other brackets and wires on in two weeks

Welcome, Sarah22......I think the time varies from person to person, but I think the average is a couple of days to a week from what I have read. I don't have any experience with this yet as I am not braced yet.

I am sure someone with more knowledge will pop in to say hi pretty soon.

Good luck....and I know I am glad I found this forum as well. It has made my decision to get braces alot easier.
