HOW LONG ARE YOU IN FOR?

#1 Post by 2XRound »

I have a big appointment on Monday, plan on an hour said the tech, to get my equipment set up for elastics. After that phase starts my treatment plan calls for 22 more months. That's about 16,000 hours of tugging and pulling left to go. That seems like a long time. :( How about the rest of you. :?:

PS. my sentence works out to be about a million minutes. And so far not a minute goes by when I am not aware of them tugging, pulling, pinching, aching...etc. :(

As of today I am in month 5 of 36. Three whole years of treatment if everything goes well. that means on my birthday next month i will be 1/6th of the way throught treatment. I know a few people who have had very long complex treatments. Mr BF's little sister has been in braces since sixth grade and she graduates next spring. thats almost 7 years  My uncles GF had braces for 4 years got them off and six months later had to have them put back on for another 3 years. thats 2 people I know with treatments times over six years YIKES!!! No doubt i will be wearing my retainers when the time comes.

Im hoping around 18 months and ive done 7 leaving 11 months. Im over 1/3 of the way :D I really would like them off for my 19th birthday in 53 weeks. To be honest once my headgear is gone (im hoping soon) i wont really care about the braces anymore.

I will definatley be wearing my retainers tho.

The Grand Plan is two years -- one year in braces, then jaw surgery, then one more year in braces.

Fun times ahead! :P

My sentence is 18-24 months. I'm hoping it will be shorter. Well, one can hope, that's for sure. My ticker is set for 24 months just because I'm not really that big of an optimist!

I was braced on Dec 20 2005.
Treatment time is supposed to be 30 months which means that if all goes as planned I have 25 more months to go

I was told 18-24 months. 12-18 months pre-surgery, 6-8 months post surgery. If all goes well, and I get my surgery on June 21st as planned, then I should have any where from 7-9 months more to go.

I think I'm at 20 of 30. I'll have to check the bill in a few days.

I got my braces in February of 2005 and was told treatment would take 24 - 30 months. However, progress has been very good and he is comfortable telling me I will have them off before the end of this year! Yea!!!!

I was given an 18 month estimate and I'm a little over three months in. I'm being realistic, though; if it is to take longer, then so be it. But I hope it doesn't take double the estimated time!

Right now, I'm not sure. At the beginning of the treatment, the ortho sent me a letter estimating 20-26 months, but I've only been in braces 3 months, so it's hard to estimate. She says she's had some get through their treatment in 18 months, others 5 years due to not caring for their braces well enough.

Hopefully I'll be one of those 18 monthers, though I have LOTS of problems to get fixed!
