After almost 3 yrs... they're off!

#1 Post by kirst1583 »

Hi everyone.

Well today was the day. An hr and 1/4 in the chair and they are off!!!

It wasn't too bad. I thought the worst was the scraping of the glue. That almost killed me. Didn't have issues with the molar bands or anything though.

They feel awesome. So nice and smooth. I must've run my tongue over them about a million times already.

I got a bonded retainer on the bottom. It's really thin. I can't stop playing with it but I know with time i'll get used to it. I figured I was getting a Hawley for the top and was right (i'll get it next week)... I've ordered a blue one. It's my fav colour, so I just had to have it.

Oh there was also a surprise in store for me. I found out i'll be getting a tru-tain (essix) to wear over the top of the bonded one. I'm really pleased as I was worried about gaps opening with only 6 teeth being retained!

Well I think that's all I have to report.

Just wanted to write and say how things went...

Once I get some pics i'll be sure to add them!
