I was told that usual treatment for braces was 18 - 24 months. But that if i kept all my appointments and did everything as i was told that my treatment time would be less. I hope so! :D

My estimate was 18 months, so just going off of that I have about 14 months left.

I've had braces for about 4 months and I still have 14 more months to go, which sounds like an eternity. But a year and a half in braces isn't that bad compared to some people.

2xRound!

I know how it feels! Sometimes you can get so depressed about how much longer you can be livin' braced! But if you don't count it out it doesn't seem as long!

Good luck with your elastics appointment and keep us posted!

Me, I just passed my 24 month anniversary and when my dad talked to my ortho he said I've definitely got a long way to go! :( My original estimate was 4 years but he said I'm definitely not going to meet that deadline! He said that every time he fixes one problem he finds another one! I'm his most "complicated case", always what you wanted to hear huh? But we'll just have to keep "trudging through" as he put it! Way to be optimistic right? So right now I'm not even going to try counting down, its pointless!

Sorry for the vent! Most of you are so lucky with your maximum estimate 24 months! ITs not that long! You can all make it!

I was told 15-18 months, then surgery, then another 6-9 months. Let's see, I was in braces for almost 24 months before surgery, and I'm almost 5 months post-surgery now, with no immediate plans for debanding. So I have no idea how long this process will really take.

My original estimate was 24-30 months, so going by that, I have somewhere in the ballpark of 10-16 more months to go. My teeth moved very quickly though, and most of the problems are fixed already, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them come off earlier than that....

....not surprised, but I'd be grateful!
Spacers: 1/26/05; 2/6/06; 3/15/06; 4/24/06
4 First Bicuspids removed: 2/2005
Metal Braces, top and bottom: 3/1/05; Debanded 7/26/07
Hawley retainers top and bottom

I've been in braces for 3.5 years and probably 6 months away from fully finishing my treatment. I was given an original estimate of 2 years. So 2 years more that expected. I followed direction from my ortho diligently!

I was told 12-15 months a while back I still have some time to go but things seem to be good.

hmm.. my original estimate was 18-24 months..

So, only 5-10 more months to go!

I'm hoping it's more like 5! I'm really not sure where I stand in my treatment. I know I have my "final wires" and we're fixing up my bite, so I assume that I'm nearing the end. :D

14 month estimation (due to travel-related time limits imposed by me; ortho wanted 2-2.5 yrs).

So far about 5 mths in, so I'm guessing about 9-10 mths to go. I wouldn't be overly surprised if it ends up being longer though, there's been very little change since day 1 :(

Hi...

I was told 24 to 30 months. I'm at the beginning of my journey, so I'll have to let you know later how it's really going.
