My daughter suffers from this and trust me you can get all sort of pains from grinding your teeth. I have taken her in to see her doctor urgently because she was not able to move her neck or move her head up and down. They were afraid it might be meningitis . It turns out that because of her severe teeth grinding she's suffered from stiff neck, pains in the neck, back pain and even shoulder pains,migraines... The grinding seems to be worse now that she has braces. Since her teeth are moving and she also grinds them she feels more tenderness. The ortho is going to make a nightguard so she can put in her mouth at night to control the grinding.
