small mouth, and even smaller teeth! [one pic]

#1 Post by goodnessgracious »

i have veryyyy small teeth.
i see all of ur pictures with
such dominant stunningly
long perfect [for lack of a
better word] front teeth, but
mine, theyre rather small.
the width is rormal, but theyre
just not very long.

and sometimes my gums
get enflamed[?] which makes
them look even smaller!!

ive heard of people getting
some of there gums cut to
expose more of their teeth,
have any of you had this done
or heard of it?

- - - - - - -
off topic: does anyone have a
VERY pointy canine?

[ill have pics up within 24hours, Lol]

go down into my journal in the journal board - i have pics up of my quite small teeth. My husband even teases me, calling them baby teeth sometimes. I am supposed to be getting smaller brackets, but i think on my teeth they will look like the norml ones!

i have ceramics on the top
and all together ive had 10
teeth taken out within the
past year or so.
6 were baby teeth, lol, and
4 were adult.
well, i have one impacted
canine, and the other, well
its just very pointy!
i was going to have my impacted
canine exposed, but they while
they were pulling teeth they said
it would expose itself, and its
slowly doin just that! it too is VERY
pointy, i look really funny with
the few teeth that i do have and
my pointy canine.

im so glad people responded,
im gonna go check all that stuff
out!!
thanks guys

thanks goodness, it's good to see i have a confidante with the same little teeth i have! Yours look great, too! On a side note, i did have pointy canines as a child - almost like fangs, but i have vivid memories of a dentist filing away the points.

I think your teeth are lovely.. It doesn't matter that they are small!! Some people with big teeth like mine would prefer them to be a little smaller!!

Hey goodnessgracious,
I have teeth very much like yours! I wish I had a photo. I have very pointy canines! I think it may be because of my bad bite - my canines have never touched any of my bottom teeth so the points have not worn off, perhaps?

I certainly intend to have some of my front teeth re-shaped when my braces come off. My pointy canines don't really bother me, but my two front teeth were so crooked that they wore down unevenly, and they are asymmetrical now. My orthodontist said he will file them down. I would think you could get the same thing done to your canines if you wanted to?

I have pointy canines. Mine actually look like yours from the photo. No big deal. They don't bother me, but my fiance has mentioned how pointy they are :) We'll see, many months from now, how they look when the braces get to doing their thing. I don't think I'll want them shaved down or anything like that.

i have a pretty bad bite too..
i have an over bite and my
canines have also never touched
my bottom teeth - - it grew over
my baby canine.. so my canine
was placed high up in the gum,
so yeah, lol, it never even came
closeee to touching my bottom
teeth!!
do you happen to have "ridges"
on the bottom of your front teeth?
good luck on filing ur teeth!! ull have
to send me a pic!!

Indy
its good that you dont mind your
pointy canines! :) it just kinda
upsets me when people point out
how it looks like a "fang".. but i really
try not to let people get to me..

on ur tickfactory thing, what is
your upper pendex?
is that just another way of saying
you have your upper braces on?
Lol

thanks for all the replies!! its good to
know im not the only one out there
with little teeth and pointy canines
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Hi again,
I can't recall anyone ever pointing out  my pointy canines, but my other teeth are a little larger than yours, so maybe they aren't as noticible. I know what you mean by "fang", that is what it looks like and it doesn't seem like there are a lot of others with "fangs"

My pendex looks just like an expander, it has the crank thing in the middle, but it's only being used to move my left molars back. No expanding here, but it can be used for that. I have an appointment next Friday, my ortho said we will discuss braces at that time. So I'm getting there :)

My teeth on the left side are positioned 1 tooth forward so they had to move my upper left molars back a tooth so the other teeth can later move in to fill the gap and be in the correct position. Here is a link I've found with pendex, pendulum and other contraptions they put in our mouth.

I can totally sympathise with you here, I have very small teeth all round and everyone tells me!! I also show way too much gum at the top when I smile so am defo considering having the gum surgery, I'm also considering porcelain veneers when I can afford it one day or win the lottery!! :D

You were asking about ridges-I had very pronounced ridges in my teeth when my adult teeth came in, like a little scallop edge on the front top and bottom ones. Over the (many many) years since then, they have worn down a bit, but they aren't completely straight across. I think that's fairly common.

cause it seems like i have more gum
than teeth when i smile! veneers seem
veryyyy cool, but they are rather
costly, good luck with the lottery!! Lol!!

jzaboo
yeah, ridges just look so silly to me,
they make me look so young.
i hope mine ware down!! :D
