This pesky tooth!!!!

#1 Post by Super Soo »

Just needed to vent of some steam because I'm sick of this wonky tooth!! Before I started my treatment in February this tooth wasn't wonky at all, it's been like this for about 3 months and it's really annoying me!!!!

My ortho has told me that the gap needs to be big enough before putting a bracket in this tooth. My next adjustment is on 28th July. Please tell me people that you all think i will finally be able to get the bracket on this date!!!

super soo, I feel your pain. I have the same problem with the same tooth and when I started my treatment my ortho told me this would be the last tooth on the wire. She also told me it should take about 3 to 4 months in order to make room for that tooth. Well I'm now on my 5 month and about to go to my 3rd adjustment and I'm almost 100% sure that there is still not enough room for that tooth :-+ . So I guess I'll try not to be to disappointed when she tells me I'll have to wait until my next adjustment to bring that tooth in  , which will be about 7 months. :x I will be looking foward to that next adjustment to see if finally that tooth will be ready to join the part  . Good luck with you wonky tooth and keep is posted as to your progress.
Got my braces off 9/20/07 after 19 months and 3 weeks. WOOOOOOHOOOOO!!

I've been having treatment for bout 5 months now, and there is one pesky tooth which is not getting straight at all. My ortho had to even 'twist' it one time to give it a boost because it wasn't straightening! Ow the pain at that time....

Hi,

I had a spring for quite a few months too. It is a pain but it eventually gives enough space for the tooth. I have a feelling that tooth was "wonky" before you just straightened out all the other teeth so that one is even more "wonky" than ever. Be patient. It looks like there is almost enough room already so I bet it won't be long now.

I agree with jcdamon. Its probably just more noticeable now. Once they do finally get the bracket on it, I predict it will move very fast.

I have that same problem with the same tooth. I have two molars extracted on each side so I don't know if I will get more movement than you . I am only braced on top! I have several weeks to go before I get braced on the bottom :( I can't say I know exactly how you feel but you are braced on the bottom, the bottom teeth look very good except that tooth so I would be happy trust me ! I have way more crowding on the bottom. I think it really depends on the ortho because I have seen people with incisors pushed way back like yours and some orthos put brackets and archwire on those also. I just think that it's way too much pressure if there isn't enough room to bring it forward...

I had 2 molars extracted because they had fillings in so i could keep the 'better' teeth.....means that I've got big extraction gaps at the back until they close up though!

Only 25 days now until this pesky tooth can hopefully find his home!!

Hi! I think you shouldn't worry at all. I have the same extraction has you do, but 10 times more crowding.
Don't worry, they'll turn perfect.

That's great movement, Super Soo. My lower right lateral is also behind the others, so your progress really makes me hopeful that mine will move to the arch quickly.
