I completely agree with you Deb! My FI and I have each tried several colors so far and we've only had braces since January! In March we actually matched, green for St. Patty's Day. It's fun if you decide it will be. Just like any experience, this is what you make it. And we're having fun with it. I mean, when your lips are totally torn up and your teeth ache, you at least have pretty, colorful tooth jewelry to look at. Ceramics or metal, you can't really hide the fact that you're archwired. I say embrace it, have fun, flash those colors, and rock your braces for all they're worth! (which we all know is a LOT). :)

Love this thread!! The reason why I joined this forum! You all have convinced me to give up on pearly and silver that I was going to get when they got changed next! Can't wait to have fun with these colours!

Ah it's so tempting to get different colors. I got clear ceramic braces but I'm tempted to try some colored ones

Just got braces, took me ages to decide on a colour. Finally chose red, love it even though I'm a guy!

I got braced over three weeks ago, and was so self conscious about it I went with clear brackets and clear ligs. Boy was that a mistake. My clear ligs are pretty much a nasty yellow now, making my teeth look yellow! My first adjustment is in two days and cannot wait to switch ligs, I'm thinking lavender or teal this time, no more clears!

Do you know what you ate or drank to get them to change to yellow?

I have SL brackets so I haven't had the fun with the ligs. I got my first lower power chain last week and was excited to choose a color...light blue. When I took a look in the mirror, I couldn't see them at all. :( Evidently, the light blue blends well with the metal brackets and with SL brackets the chain goes in behind.

I will say that the upper navy chains I had with my clear brackets were fun. :)

I'm down to 2 more power chain changes and have been debating hot pink or lime green....or both! It's been pearl gray most of the time but since my time (sentence) is almost over (served), I want to get a little crazy!

If you like the look of the clear try smoke coloured ligs. They look dark grey before they're put on but once they're stretched around your brackets they appear clear and they don't stain as easily (unless you eat curry, that stuff will stain pretty much anything!)

I have purple on bottom, but have clear top brackets. Thinking about pink top and bottom next time :)

You're welcome. Any of the pics in my thread are generally smoke coloured ligs (the first few pages anyway, after that I got a silver powerchain so didn't have ligs anymore). I'm just off to check your blog (sorry running out the door so I'm answering 2 of your posts in one :P )

I'm considering getting a rainbow next appointment (6th August!) I'll ask my ortho if I'm getting any power chains and if I am not, rainbow it is! Otherwise I'll go with red on top and clear below (it's national day and those are singapore's national colours) :D excited!
Upper braces off after 636 days!
