I'll add another vote for don't worry too much, you'll be able to go to class! I went right back to seeing patients the day I got my braces on, and then closed on a house the following day! I definitely had some insecurity related to it all, but in the end it was no big deal. Be sure to keep some painkillers and dental wax handy though! Good luck!

I got braced and started a new class later that day. It was NO problem at all. Don't delay college for braces, you'll be fine.

Wow, I'm just one day behind you....I had my spacers put in on 7/11 and I'll be getting my braces on on Tuesday, the day after you. I'm getting mine put on at 8:00 in the morning and will be going to work right afterwards. I must admit, I'm pretty nervous about debuting my new look without even being able to try out the whole talking thing at home. But I think it'll be alright. Nowadays people are pretty understanding of adults getting braces. I think you'll be just fine. There's really no reason that you should set yourself behind with your classes just because you're getting braces the day before it starts. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger right? Best of luck with your new braces....just stay positve and you'll be fine!!!
