One ortho told me that he would adjust every 8 weeks. Another ortho told me every 6 weeks.

Mine are usually every six weeks, though I've had one at five weeks and one at seven weeks.

From what I've read here, six weeks seems to be more of an average length between adjustments, except I've read that some people with self-ligating braces may have adjustments every 8-10 weeks.

At my ortho's office, patients who have SureSmile as part of their treatment have adjustments only every 10 weeks (but that is during the latter part of their treatment).

So my answer is that it really varies with the patient and orthodontist.
Uppers placed 2/8/06--Inspire ICE ceramics
Lower (stainless) placed 2/23/06
Treatment time: 17 months (estimated was 12-18 months)
Debonded: July 11th, 2007
Next appointment: June 2008 for retainer & nightguard check

i am supposed to go every 8 weeks but do to them being booked i dont usually get in until 10 weeks and sometimes 12 weeks... talk about DELAYING YOUR TREATMENT!!! this sucks
Why would an ortho delay treatment :?: It's there good name that's at stake here ... so I very much doubt this is what's happening. It's more likely that s/he has worked out that your teeth are taking a little longer to respond and that these time frames are more realistic!

sorry for the confusion KK.... what i meant was that the ortho WANTED to see me back in 8 weeks but i wasnt able to go back for 10 or 12 weeks because they were booked and for me to go 2 or 4 weeks more everytime im supposed to have an adjustment and is really starting to add up, but my teeth are moving fast, or atleast i think, so hopefully i will have them off soon... HOPEFULLY! :D
