It's Official:

Something new I had never thought of before...I'm going to be staring at teeth all day at work.

Your teeth look great!

torque movement of the laterals hasn't been completed
Dr Rick, by this do you mean if the laterals are flared a bit, when they come back 'in' they might appear longer?

I'm getting a little worried because one of my #2's is slightly shorter than my laterals but the other is dead even. And that is the one that started out way shorter...its like they pulled it down too far maybe.

Freya 333...what a subject to start since I never wanted to ask this question! I want my teeth to look exactly like yours do...on purpose! Heck I was gonna ask my ortho if this can be done...I figured while I go through this, maybe he can lower some and up some LOL. I think it's really cute when the central incisors are the lowest, then the laterals just a hair higher than that and then the canines a little lower.

I was gonna bring him a picture of an actress who has teeth like that and say "make mine look like that" ! When I watched "Ladder 49" I thought that actress, Jacinda Barrett, had the best teeth ever...not "perfect" but just adorable, I think teeth like that look really feminine!

That is what I want my teeth to look like if I could pick them! Yours are just like that...so consider yourself lucky! I think you are for sure!

Her teeth are what I am hoping for! Thanks for that link!!

A friend of mine made fun of my canines and said that I'd have to either become a vampire or have those things whacked...what does she know. I think she may have been slightly drunk when she said it...She's the one who had hers filed down flat with her other teeth.

This topic is very interesting. What it also highlights for me is how subjective the whole topic of what is beautiful, cute, flattering, etc., can be.

Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder and in the eye (and hands) of our orthos!

One of my lower canines is well, lower than the other one and I hope it can be pulled up a bit. I NEVER noticed this until I started this whole journey of "tooth gazing." I also have wear across the tops of my lower front teeth due to rubbing across my top teeth the wrong way. I know these can all be evened out as I have seen some amazing shaping on others here at the site. Thank heavens for that.

It makes me wonder what else is wrong / odd / mishapen about the rest of me!

For those who read French, this website has some interesting stuff about what makes a smile pleasing:

For those who don't understand French, I guess they could use Google's automatic translation. They might not understand everything, but they sure will be in for a good laugh!
