Total cost $8100, no insurance, over 24 months.
Whoa. Is that in Canadian dollars? Either way, it's a lot, but hey, you can't put a price on a winning smile. That's great that you went ahead with treatment anyway.

My total came to $4400 and insurance paid $2000 for 18 months in regular braces, so $2400 out of pocket. That includes the extra $450 to get ceramic uppers and the few hundred dollars discount to pay the balance upfront. I know some people warned about paying upfront in case the orthodontist closes or something, but I didn't feel like writing a check every month, so I did it anyway! I hate writing checks.

Yeah, it's Canadian $$$ (which is still $6,976 US), but it covers the orthognathic surgery if I need it, as well as having my four (impacted) wisdom teeth removed.

Then again, orthognathic surgery and wisdom teeth are covered under Medicare anyway ... so maybe I just got hosed. :P

Mine are $6300 with ceramics on top. No insurance coverage as I'm too old. My son will get a family discount (so I'm told)when he start in a couple of months. In looking at others in my area who have went to different orthos and their final results, I can tell a difference in the finished product.

As for cost? BeforeI had braces I had significant TMJ issues, and my teeth couldn't be seen when I talked. I also grind my teeth. The first two goals appear to be accomplished. The grinding may be worse as my bite is a work in progress.

To paraphrase an old commercial.....

Straight teeth....$6300.....

No TMJ pain.....PRICELESS!

No insurance coverage for my braces. I am paying it all out of pocket however a person who owed me money for 6 years popped up all of a sudden and paid me. So that covered my down payment.

My cost is $5800
I put $1400 down and I am paying $150 a month.
Thats for my braces (Damon 3 & 3MX) chaining my lower teeth afterward and retainers.
That will also cover any extractions if needed but he says its a good chance we will not need them.

In Montreal ( Canada ) there is a big difference depending on where you go, so far for my case which is complicated ( adult + surgery, meaning it is the option which cost the most ;) ) I have seen from 6500 to 8300$

+ around a thousand for the surgery itself

deposit around 1500-2500, then the rest each month over 2 years

child are a 1000$ less, no surgery = a 1000$ less

I will have to pay my dentist for my three extractions but apart from that I will make you all feel sick because my teeth are bad enough to allow me to get them free of charge from NHS.

I'm paying $3800 for Damon's (ceramic on top, metal on bottom) and a quad helix expander. No insurance as I am too old. It worked out to be approximately $750 down payment with a monthly payment of $170 a month for 18 months. I'm pretty sure I got a student discount. :)

The work I had to do before I get braced is $1300 after insurance covers $1000. That was 280 down and 100 a month for 10 months.

Interesting, Canada seems a tad more expensive, I'm paying $7100 cdn, Montreal West Island. My lowest quote was 6300, the next was 6600 to 7000 and the one I went with was 7100. I do not normally go with the most expensive quote for anything but this ortho instilled the most confidence in me. In US $ it's about 6035 so it's not too far off the norm. Insurance pays 2500, rest is at 200 per month cdn. My fee includes the retention which is planned to be bonded retainers top and bottom and a removable retainer on top to totally trap my top teeth!!

My treatment is 4500, after insurance(thanks to my sweet hubby's job)I pay 2400. I chose ceramic uppers, which is an extra 300, so my treatment is 2700 hundred. I have to pay 250 for records with a 600 down payment, which leaves my balance at 1850, and I'll be paying 102 and some change for 18 months. My treatment time is an estimated 16-18 months. My permanent retainers are also included in my braces fee.
