I've had one bracket pop off while manually brushing my teeth. It was a week or so after being braced and was warned that one would probably come off.
Were you warned because of the problem w/ the molar or because it happens so often to everyone?

I share ur plight...
Since getting bottom braces on April 4, 2007 ( five weeks after the tops), I lost 4 brackets all on the bottom:
the right lower molar three times
  • April 6, 2007, replaced April 9
    April 23, replaced May 9
May 21, replaced May 23 (right lower pre-molar)
    June 5, replaced June 6
Last time I was charged $25!
Does that molar have a lot of reconstructions (big fillings or a crown?)?
Meryaten,
Not at all, the molar is my natural teeth, no fillings or a crown, the pre-molar that lost the bracket though did have a filling and the bracket sits right on the filling; the Ortho had roughened the exterior of the molar each time she has replaced the bracket, but she refuses to add a molar band as she is anti-molar bands...

It is kind of weird ladies; I still can't figure it out. It's been 18 days now since she put it back on and it seems to be holding. This will get expensive, so if it comes off again, I'll have to talk with her and see what can be done to keep it there.

Something is up for them to keep popping off like that.
