In two weeks, it'll be six months, which seems insane. It feels like I just got them on. The time really does go fast!

Besides feeling like a freak, my social life pretty much out of the door and lack of confidence when socializing with new people it has not been that bad to adjust to the braces..!? :?

Wow! thanks for all of your replies everyone! I'm happy I found this place.

Hey, thanks for the post, Danish. 125 days but who's counting?! haha I am  ! I think you're completely lucky to have those many days behind you!

It's really good to know that despite everything else... adjusting to the braces hasn't been that bad for you ! :)

About feeling like a freak and lack of confidence, being original is one of the greatest qualities a person can have! Anyone who's different is going to feel like a stranger from time to time, and that's quite natural being that you aren't like anyone else and you know it - but trust me, it's nothing to feel bad about! quite the exact opposite, you should feel VERY confident! There's absolutely no reason you should have to feel otherwise (go ahead, I dare you to try and think of one... I bet you can't!).

All my life I felt like a "freak" too, but in a way that I wasn't (and I'm still not) sorry for hehe ...in fact, people think I'm completely crazy most of the time anyway!

Two months, 3 days and counting. Its not easy at first, and this last appointment on monday they put a power chain on one side, and that was worse, but eventually its like nothing is there. Including my nance, which sits in the roof of my mouth, seems like a part of me now! It gets easier promise!

I've had them for 5 hours already. It's uncomfortable but not as bad as I expected. I have to have them on for 20 months...and I hope the time will pass quickly!
